I like Paseknics. Ariza is only useful for 1 week of the reg and however long Pels in is in playoffs. Possibly 2-3 weeks. So Ariza is useful for a good 4 weeks. Quite the asset.

"im giving up more than dallas gave for barrea for a worse player." L Oh L like i stated before add a first and ill approve, til then my vote remains the same. honestly, think about it for a minute. If this weren't me and Trey trading, how could you veto this trade if you approved the barrea trade without a 2nd thought? 1. the raptors 2nd im adding will be in the 35-38 range (thus better than the best 2nd in the barrea deal, which is 45 at best) and wether you like pasecniks or not, you surely must admit that he is worth more than pick 55 in 2018 draft (the 2nd 2nd in the barrea deal)? Thus my package is undeniably better than dallas package for barrea. 2. And then the point of ariza vs barrea is up for contention, but IMO the fact that both are ranked roughly the same (barrea is the 27th best pG this year, Ariza the 21st best SF, Barrea is scoring 22.1 fppg so far, compared to Arizas 23.5), but Barrea has a cheap 2nd year makes him more valuable IMO. If not that then both are atleast incredibly close in value. If Mavs is so adamant that Ariza is worth more btw, im open to direct swap ariza for Barrea as a followup trade. Post it if you want. You re abusing your position on the TC Chalie, and I dont think its fair.

I'm not voting on this trade. Your begging for votes so I gave my thoughts on it. The barea trade was close but as I've said in the other deal, this one is considerably worse imo.
Your last deal got vetoed 0-3. You added a 2nd. To think it won't continue to receive vetoes is wishful thinking.

Im asking for a reasonable discussion why this deal is vetoable but the barea deal isnt, by simply and straight up comparing the two. the barrea deal only consisted of 2 2nds, so if it was just the dallas 2nd 2018, it would have gotten vetoed and he reposted it with the 2nd you could be saying the same thing: "you only added a 2nd". What kind of an answer is that. Especially from a TC member? Either 2nds hold no value, then you shoulda vetoed the barrea deal, or 2nds hold value, then i deserve a reasonable argument why this deal is worse.

that didn't happen tho man. As I said BEFORE multiple reasons why this deal is worse were brought up in the previous trade post. Go read them.
im not voting on this braindead kid's trades anymore, however Trey needs votes fast so he can see what to do w Ariza.
0-0.

I'm merely using a made up scenario to show the faults of your argument, whether or not they happend is irrelevant. Especially since its not a very outlandish scenario. This is a new deal and with the added 2nd (which is a very high 2nd) the offer is fundamentally different and better than the barrea package, thus the previously mentioned reasons (which primarly addressed whether or not Pasekniks is worth a 1st or not) are invalid, since now the discussion should be whether Pasekniks is worth more than a pick 55 in 2018 and I am interested to see how that case can be made. But I understand your decision and hope the other TC members can come around quick seeing as the trading deadline approaches.

"a made up scenario"
Well if you wanna make up scenarios, if you gave Trey a first here instead of the 2nd, it still would've been bad, but passable. And the discussion of Pasekniks being more valuable than pick 55 is only open if Ariza and Barea are equal in value. And to me as well as others based on previous votes, they aren't.

Sorry for the delay... Still a terrible trade, definitely vetoable, but if clips still wants to do it after reading everything else, whatever i guess, pass.
Re: all the barea trade comparisons... Second rounders are virtually worthless, which is why the barea deal probably should've been vetoed, but it already had enough passes when i saw it, and tbh my thought process was "it's barea, yeah he's an underrated producer right now but he's wildly inconsistent and who knows if he'll play at all next year, so who cares". That second year on his contract could well end up being a liability, not an asset, and comparing him to ariza is laughable.

Laughable? Barea is averaging 21fppg, Ariza averaging 24. Will Barea regress next year? Probably, but not enough to be a bust, and at least at 3 million his owner will have a bench player whereas Ariza walks unless you use your 1 re-sign on him. Regardless of which teams they play for the numbers have been very close and contracts matter.

Ariza consistently has, and will again, put up better numbers than what we've seen thus far this season. More importantly, he's an unquestioned and unthreatened starter with a guaranteed role night in and night out. Barea is a back up, role player, full in as needed type of guy, with no guarantees of anything whatsoever, threatened by several young up and coming guys who are going to take his minutes. Seth Curry being injured is a huge part of why he's done anything significant, and he'd never start for any NBA team unless they were out of options. It's apples and oranges.

Charlie if you're gonna keep hitting below the belt you should just give it a succ while you're down there.
Chris Yeah minutes is a huge thing, opportunity is certainly lucky for Barea but he's also getting enough playing time with Ferrell and Smith Jr getting enough time to improve as well. But if the Rockets don't go the distance this year, do they re-sign CP3 and let Ariza walk? Where does Trevor Ariza sign in the offseason and will his 13+ million dollar contract (in fantasy, that is) be worth it? Why are we convinced he's going to start topping his fantasy numbers thus far? It's not like his minutes can be increased, although I'll say he may get a few more open 3's with both a healthy CP3 and Harden out there.
This isn't a "who would you rather have" argument though, I think the trades in discussion aren't far enough apart to make a deal laughable. As far as success goes, Charlie cut me some slack going into my 2nd year I mistakenly traded away my best players, but all those deals managed to pass whereas here there seems to be a train of thought that Ariza is gonna average 35 the rest of the way somehow. At least Clippers gets a very cheap player back playing minutes on a shit team, a prospect that was drafted in the first round, and a 2nd round pick at around 40 that can be traded up or used on a guy who slides.

"I mistakenly traded away my best players" nigga perk WHAT Nigga WHAT.
bottom line is Barea is performing at his max clip rn and can at any second go from that to DNP's. might not have a role next year. hes someone that i can easily see falling off, fast. Ariza's got nowhere to go but up and even right now he's isn't performing horribly.
to win here, you gotta predict what numbers WILL LOOK LIKE not what they CURRENTLY ARE. i signed justin holiday here for like 1m 1 year ago in the summer, no one else bid. i traded 1 late 1st for James Johnson. i went after Al Horford and he's having a career year (knock on wood he continues it) and everyone was dumbfounded. and yeah everyone misses on some things, but to get NO ASSETS back is the worst. and imo that's what trey and rockets have been doing. rockets got shroeder, but cmon DMC is the best chip in the league thats an ass fuck even if u add in 2 other prospects. trey got a euro but i bet he never heard of the guy til pels offered him to him. he could've easily got a 1st round pick and yeah the argument is "the euros the 1st round pick" but cmon thats such a big if and holds such little value as it stands. your gonna say "thats my opinion" but cmon people live and die by 1st round picks around here come draft time, get some of those. tbh i think the bigger crime is trey having harden on his team and not finding a way into the playoffs. whiteside is gonna kill the rest of season he just had to stay afloat.

*mistakenly*, meaning it was dumb, not an accident. Yeah see that was a nicer post I appreciate the effort Charlie and we can begin to heal our relationship. Ariza is 32 though I just don't get the thought that he's only going to get better. As for Barea his role is in jeopardy of sinking next year but at 3 million it isn't a huge risk. The "could have got more for Ariza" argument might be true but considering the deadline is in 2 days, there aren't tons of teams throwing around first round picks, and a lot of teams haven't been paying attention, so Trey doesn't get tons of trade partners.

I don't think ariza is going to get better, he is what he is, but strictly in terms of fantasy numbers his production has been down this year compared to the previous 2-3, i just meant that i expect that to correct back to his norm... In other words, he's already proven he's better than a 24 fppg guy, first half of this year has been an anomaly.
