Demarcus Cousins on his way out of Houston?
The Rockets and Nuggets are reportedly in talks that could send the star big man on his way to Denver. New Rockets management have made it clear they are in full rebuild mode, and that Demarcus is not apart of the future. Demarcus has been on an absolute tear this year, and he has squashed any idea of diminished fantasy value this year to the tune of an eye popping 54 fantasy points per game. The Rockets management did actually deal Demarcus earlier in the year, but the trade was nixed on the account of it not being fair. The Nuggets meanwhile are in full blown win now mode, and just earlier today completed a blockbuster that brought over Kyle Anderson, Thad Young, and Jonas Valanciunas. It is clear they have their eyes set on a title and acquiring Demarcus Cousins would obviously help in accomplishing that.
Whatever the package may be, it would have to involve a lot for the stud who is currently a top 5 fantasy player. Early rumors are that Nik Vucevic and Ricky Rubio are both to be involved. We can't speculate on just how likely this trade is to be completed, but can confirm there have been talks as recently as this morning. Demarcus would put the Nuggets as the easy favorite for the division and possibly the conference. It's unclear if the Rockets have been talks with other teams, but the Jazz, Bulls, and Raptors have all expressed interest. If anything happens, you'll hear it here first.
