Rules Overview
This league is for the intentions of free fantasy basketball only. This site is to help to continue the concept of being an actual GM for a NBA team. Teams are based on a first come, first serve basis. The concept of this league is common. It is a dynasty league in which all members will select one NBA team. 

Only transactions made here will be honored. 

Each team will be responsible for 1 roster. You must post this rosters in your team section of the boards.  All you need is your players names, and their salary of that year.  We will also be keeping a spreadsheet document open of all the teams rosters.  

All teams cap is a total of 95 million, you have to stay below this. If you go over you will only be allowed to make trades that lower your cap and you can only drop players and not add players if you are over. If you are over we will give you 48 hours to go under if not you will be removed from the league.  Cap is NOT allowed to be traded. 

Trades
All Trades will be posted in the trade review section of the forum and will be reviewed by a committee. The trade committee members will vote and if a trade receives 3 vetoes it will be vetoed. Likewise if it receives 3 approves it will be approved. The committee will be the following members barring one of them declining their spot, in which case i would find another. Warriors, Bulls, Spurs, Kings, and Knicks,  If any of these teams are involved in the trade the two replacement members will be Celtics and someone i pick as i get to know the new owners.  The TC will vote on the basic principle of does this trade hurt the league?  A trade may be lopsided in ones eyes but that doesn't matter we as owners all have different opinions and each owner has the right to make the trades they see fit.  Aslong as their a possibility the trade could work out both ways, the trade will most likely be passed. 

Overseas/Dleague
Each team will be allowed 5 overseas players and three G league players. You may only bid on players overseas on rosters or players in the D-league. Obviously no high school players.  Each player's salary still fully counts towards the salary cap.  In order to be eligible for this the player must have 1 of the following- On a two way deal in real life, playing in the G-League at the current moment or have less than 45 career games.  If the player was injured that does not count.

Activity
Lastly activity is very important.  For those of you who don't know this was a six year league before it died last year for multiple reasons.  The league is only going to be as active as it's LM and i fully understand that but i need the cooperation of you all as well.  I understand we all have busy lives, but i expect everyone to log in atleast once a day.  Honestly with the new rules it will be tougher to trade and i understand that.  But i genuinely love the game of basketball and if EVERYONE logs into the boards at least once a day to partake in discussion on power rankings, rumors, and general discussion of basketball this league will thrive for years.  In the real NBA there aren't trades everybody but GMS are always active and that is all i ask of you here.  The more active you are on chat the better, but i understand everyone is busy.  However if you are spotty with logging in i won't hesitate to give you a boot, as we really only want guys who are active and want to make this the best league out there.


Free Agent Rules
Max number of years for a bid is 5 years.
Bids must up the previous bid points by at least 0.1 points.
Expiring contracts cannot be traded once playoffs start.
Retiring players are free drops. (Only if they are on a contract, drop hits are NOT cleared)
If you are dropping a player in a bid you must list the player.
Id you drop a player 10 mill or more you may not bid on him again until he switches teams.
If a bid is found to be invalid, the clock will restart at 24 hours with the valid bid being in the lead. 

Contract years add value based on the following: $1M = 1 point

1 YR = 1X multiplier ---- 1YR/$5M = 5 X 1 = 5 pts
2 YR = 1.20X multiplier ---- 2YR/$5M = 5 X 1.20 = 6 pts
3 YR = 1.40X mulitplier ---- 3YR/$5M = 5 X 1.40 = 7 pts
4 YR = 1.60X multiplier ---- 4YR/$5M = 5 X 1.6 = 8 pts
5 YR = 1.80X multiplier ---- 4YR/$5M = 5 X 1.8 = 9 pts


Off-Season Transition
At the end of the championship game you will have 30 days to get under cap. These 30 days are also the 30 days used to resign free agents. If not you will be forced to drop players until your under cap. It is your choice on who you choose to drop but you must drop until you're under. You will have 30 days to get under. BTW this does NOT mean that people can make trades that put you over cap, however players get paid more the following year so if you go over cap you will have 3 days.

Draft picks are only available to be traded for up to 3 years in advance.

Rookie Scale starting 2022 and moving forward.

Your rookie salary is drafted by slot.

Rookies drafted in bball26 with 2nd round picks are G-League eligible until they reach 45 games played.
1st Round picks are not G-League elig unless they play G-League games and still qualify for the under 45 games played rule.

Background: Currently there has been nothing in place that deals with scenarios where trades are made, accepted and approved, but then found out to be illegal. Current and past we have generally voided these trades.

New Rule: If a trade is found to be illegal for any reason (salary cap, roster limits, wrong picks being traded, overpaying on contract, etc.) the team with the illegal item will be responsible to find a solution to make the trade work. Team responsible for said issue will have 48 hours to resolve. After 48 hours have passed from the admin post pointing out the issue, admin team will take over and help facilitate any transaction.

What is the resign price vs the tender price?
If you resign a player, it's 0.6x fantasy points per game. If no one bids on your RFA and you choose to let them play out their QO, it's 0.5x fantasy points per game.

How many resigns do I get per year?
1 resign per year. Resigning RFAs through silent bidding does not count as a resign, but resigning a RFA before the silent bidding does count as a resign.

In a 3 way trade, can a team cover cap on a player that they aren't trading away?
No, you can only cover salary on a player that you are trading away from your team.

When is a player eligible for the G-League and International slots?
In order to be eligible for this the player must have 1 of the following- On a two way deal in real life, playing in the G-League at the current moment or have less than 45 career games*. To be eligible for an international slot a player has to be rostered on a team abroad.
*FOR ROOKIES, if you drafted them in the first round of OUR draft, even if they are a second rounder in real life, they are not eligible for G-League unless they are assigned to it in real life.

Can I protect picks?
Yes, but you have to give something in the deal at some point. If you "top 15" protect a first round pick this year and next year, but keep the pick both years, you need to give something the year after.

Can I bid on players I cut?
You can bid on players you cut only if they had a salary less than $10M. Aka, if you cut someone who has a $10M salary, you can't bid on them in free agency.

Are there sign and trades? Example: If I resign a player, can I trade him right away without waiting a minimum amount of time?
Yes, as long as you have the cap to sign him in the first place you can trade him right away. You cannot go over the salary cap to sign a player even if you are going to trade them right away.

Can I conditional drop players?
Yes, in free agency and trades. You can designate conditional drops in your free agent bids. If you win the player, the drop will be executed. In trades, just say "drop ___" in your post. If it gets vetoed, the player stays on your roster.

I wanted to clarify IR before we get underway. If your player has missed a game or is fully expected to miss a game (cracked flag) then they are IR eligible. Some people have been confused that a player is only eligible if they have the cracked flag. If they have missed a game and haven’t been officially ruled in they are still IR eligible. The most important part of this is... Once your player is announced back they must leave IR. Whether you signed someone in wake of their absence or called someone off of the G-League roster you most make a move immediately. Obviously if the slate has started you don't have to take them immediately out of your lineup, but the point is you can't keep uninjured player stashed on IR for any amount of time. Lastly, if there are special occasions like Kyrie and Ben I have allowed them to be IR eligible. Fantasy hoops is hard enough and that shit is so out of our control that it's only fair to let you somewhat try and replace that production. Anyways, if you have any other questions let me know.

Money can only be moved to partially cover contracts. It cannot be moved for picks or players straight up.
A team can only help cover a contract for the year the trade takes place in and the year after.
A team can only cover up to 75% of a contract and 15% the following year.
A team can only cover a contract in up to 10 trades that year.
A max of 12.5 mill can be moved OUT per year.
You can't move money that's been traded to you, money goes with the player.
When logged on excel the money coming in will be added to cash adjustments, while the bottom of excel will state the team giving the money, the player they're covering, and the amount of money they are paying that year.
When a player you are paying money on is dropped, you will pay based on the money you were paying. Let's say you were paying 5 mill on x player for one year. You would incur 2.5 mill cap hit for that year. but that money is freed up.


In addition to this we have what we call the Loren rule.


You cannot trade a player for a pick or assets to then have that team cover cap and send them back. That is essentially just trading money (a cap loophole) that destroyed our league in the previous iteration.

If a player comes back in a subsequent larger deal it’ll be up to commishes discretion but any trade made with the intention of having a players salary covered and coming back will not be allowed.

People can request a player be reevaluated:

When a post is made for said player HERE

• A player will gain a position if he has played at least 20% of his time at said position
  
  
  
• A player will lose a position if he is under the 20% number for a position he currently has

Once a player position change is requested, said player can gain or lose position based on the above criteria.

A REQUEST CAN ONLY BE MADE FOR YOUR OWN PLAYERS.

AMENDMENT: Rule is based on current team usage.
Player position eligibility resets at the end of every bball26 season!!!!!!!

Addendum to the FA rules regarding drops-

- Absolutely no editing FA posts going forward.
- If you need to clarify because you made a spelling mistake, please make another post.
- You can only change your drop when circumstances change (Ex: 2 bids out and 2 drops are out, you get outbid on 1, you can then change your drop on the bid you still have leading with the other player you were going to drop) (Another ex: You make a trade and have a new bum you’d like to kick out) Basically any time the circumstances on your roster have changed within the 24 hr clock, you can update your drop. We want to avoid someone posting a drop and then just changing because they feel like it.
- If you need to update your drop because circumstances have changed, please make another post.
- No either or drops. (Ex: Drop Player A or Drop Player B). Must pick one when you bid.

These rules are effective in Free Agency beginning 7/13/2022 officially.

Starting today, 11/22/2022. Any bids that are made on free agency need to have clarification on how roster spots are being made for said moves.
This needs to include any cuts and any IR moves. Good rule of thumb going forward will be to report any players you currently have on IR, any G-League movement and any cuts you are choosing to make.

Seems to be daily confusion on what lineup changes are and when they are implemented, so going to try and clear our any confusion:

Lineup changes made:
If team did not set lineup at all

There must be open spots for guys to be plugged in, but this does not include players who are out injured but plugged into the lineup.
Ex. If you have a player on the bench playing, and an open spot for him to be plugged into that lineup change will be made and a strike will be given. But if a player is scratched late and you aren’t able to get them out in time we will not swap anyone in.

Only exception to this rule is, if an owner is actively away on vacation or unable to adjust their lineup and notifies an admin well ahead of time, the admin can make changes to their lineup for that period.
If a player is plugged into the lineup and just out for the game, this will not count as an open spot.

The point of this system is to maintain competitive integrity not to use it for competitive advantages. Anyone deemed to be abusing the system will be punished.

IR Off-Season Rule Addendum.

Moving forward.
During the start of offseason all players will be taken off the IR.
Only players that have reports that confirm they will not be ready for the start of the season will be deemed eligible for IR.
