Spurs receive: Amari Bailey ($1.23M, 2027 RFA) 2025 Oklahoma City Thunder's 1st round pick 2025 Boston Celtics' 1st round pick 2026 Portland Trailblazers' 1st round pick 2026 Boston Celtics' 1st round pick
Celtics receive: 2024 San Antonio Spurs' 1st round pick (#3) 2025 Memphis Grizzlies' 1st round pick (whoever owns the 2025 Suns' 1st round pick retains rights to swap with this one... so let's be real, it's the 2025 PHO 1st rounder)
Spurs accept. Not totally thrilled to be punting my timeline even further down the road, in fact kinda pissed about it, but similar to the Bulls/Mobley trade I made, this is just too many valuable assets to say no to, particularly with this year's draft class being what it is. Pretty sure I could get a guy I like quite a bit at #3, but wouldn't really be fully on board with it (feels like a risky/could end up being a bust situation even at #3) and TBH that 26 POR 1st alone will probably result in a better player; 3 more 1sts (one of which might be lotto in a much better draft class, all 3 likely to be a lot better than that MEM pick I tacked on in the interests of being more fair) plus a project/upside guy I've always liked... 'twas an offer I couldn't refuse.
Pleasure dealing with you, Celts, good luck with the pick, curious to see who you're after.
Official public apology to Kings for last second backing out of an accepted (but not confirmed) deal when I got Celts' reply; shitty thing to do and I am truly sorry, but gotta go with what's best for my team.

Curious what else was on the table for Spurs, as this looks like just sent 3 and another first for a bunch of generously mid picks. Approved but think bman fleeced.

Pass - agree with Kyle here. I don't think it's a fleece, but not a bet I would've taken if I was Spurs.

Approve. Think Bman pretty clearly gets the best asset in the deal but if Spurs really is that unsure about this class grabbing 4 future firsts isn't awful and could work out for him. Let's see who these picks turn into.
