People who compare Michael's stats to LeBron's are missing where the greatness even is. It's like saying Babe Ruth could walk into a 2017 AAA game in bumfuck Iowa without context and 1927 Bino would look better than the average Joe shit talk who plays in the can-am league right now. Do we even truly know what modern day strengths the greatest hitter ever would have today? Anyone who is certain Babe even makes Independent Baseball is the same guy in March Madness who alphabetically determines winners for his bracket, yet claims he's an expert because his seemingly not random as fuck order is based on a false conception that team's have advantage when a college name begins with the letter Q or V etc. A lot of Information and knowledge is determined by Something That Doesn't Exist in the game. Questions such as what skills are most recognizable, what weaknesses are mostly products of inexperience\coaching as opposed to something else like say Rules, Era, Styles of play, physical limitations, etc etc need to be answered before you recruit\sign\draft players. It is only at that point you're able to even begin making any sort of projection or comparisons before LJ\MJ, an eighth grader, an overseas\college player or even comparing leagues as a whole. And even then, you're at the mercy of some bullshit coach or something. People who misunderstand basketball tend to cite numbers be it championships or points or 3's. Viewing a sport such as basketball with numbers is like trying to find a scientifically proven psychic when we can't prove that shit even exists yet. We cannot yet access most of basketball's E=Mc2, you can merely do what the laws of physics in your era allow for. Right now we are waiting for the basketball Bill James, but waiting is assuming our laws of physics even share the same dimension.
Chaos and grace in hoops are the Dark matter and dark energy of our known universe. You can put any chemicals together with both present, but slightly alter either and the universe can't exist. Unfortunately we aren't discovering Dark Matter until we're sure it's even discoverable...
In closing, just remember; Consciousness is only such a romantic concept because we experience it as we perceive, while we perceive other's as being conscious based on our own experience. But first, just figure out how to identify a nice shot form.
