Blazers Receive: Jaylen Brown (16.38 / 16.38 / UFA) Minnesota Timberwolves 2025 2nd Round Pick
Timberwolves Receive: Shaedon Sharpe (4.64 / 4.86 / 6.18 / RFA) Marcus Smart (13.46 / 15.83 / 15.83 / UFA)
Blazers accept.
Smart isn't coming back soon enough to make a difference in Bball26 and I'm not so sure Shaedon is either. Tough to move off Sharpe but I've always liked Jaylen and I think the move gives me a stronger core heading into the playoffs.
Edit: Exum to IR. Jaylen slotted into the lineup.

TWolves accept. Waving the white flag for this year after Randle injury and Hali big question mark with his injury as well. Move that will get me back to competing next year. Sharpe risky but I like him a lot and Smart should be 20+. Hate losing JB and best player but think Sharpe can get close-ish. Second was unnecessary to add in but should be mid-late and rather use that cap elsewhere.
Also cutting Brissett to make room.

Approve. Like this for Blazers a lot, Jaylen Browns ceiling might not be crazy high but he’s a stud barely in his prime. Shaedon could be JB level at some point but it’s a pretty big question mark and Marcus Smart looked pretty bad this year, that contract could end up being ass for Wolves.

This makes sense for both sides… kinda. It’s an absolute love on the side of blazers. You take out all possible risk with Shae and get Brown who is what you would hope the ceiling for shae is. Plus brown is still young and will be good for another 8 years. I guess Twolves is looking for a cheaper contract with Hali resign coming up but he also has to eat the smart contract? Idk man. This is such a good deal from Tyler and even if u think Shae is a superstar there is 0 risk for Tyler in the future and he smashes in the short term. Just incredible dealing by him and why he remains one of the best in here. Twolves has so much work still going forward even with all the talent he has. Makes his situation more complicated but we will see how he can navigate the massive resign with hali combined with shae on a rookie deal. Risky risky risky. But we will see.

I approve, love it for blazers, really don't like it for Twolves. Would want at least one "sure-thing" in this. He takes on all the risk. But often, we look back on these deals and say wow... we were very wrong. We'll see!

Pass. I also like blazers' side better, but it's a fair deal

Think there are scenarios where Sharpe becomes Brown or better and Smart plays semi level with Brown next year. Get the logic behind wanting the best player in the deal though. Approve. Classic greedy Blazers asking for a 2 here as a middle finger.
