The Pelicans officially came to terms with center Alex Len on a 5 year deal worth about $10 million per year. The Pelicans are coming off a rough year, but it's clear the franchise has a purpose and a plan moving forward, one which involves Alex Len. Len at times has shown flashes of being a star big man in this league, consistency, like with many young players is what it will come down to with this kid. Players of Len's size and skill don't come around too often, so it's not surprising the Pelicans choose to ride with their big man. Len and Drummond will form what will be the best young big man duo in the league, and in a league where centers are few and far in between Len is even more valuable.
Len tweeted "Happy to be back in New Orleans, lets get to work! #Pelicans" shortly after the news broke. With Len returning the Pelicans have almost a full roster and it will be interesting to see what moves if any at all the Pelicans make this off-season. One thing is clear, the Pelicans front office isn't content with being a bottom feeder for much longer, ownership is ready to turn things around in New Orleans and young players like Alex Len, Andre Drummond, and Justice Winslow will all play huge roles in this.
