TEAM | NOTABLE DRAFT PICKS | PLAYERS SELECTED | DRAFT GRADE | EXPLANATION |
---|---|---|---|---|
Detroit Pistons | 1, 4 | Chet Holmgren, Jaden Ivey | A+ | It just doesnt get much better than this. In a four player draft, Irwin gets the first pick to get whoever he loves the most then gets to wait til 4 to get whoever drops. Beautiful. I love Holgrem for this league and think he has 50 point upside in here if he hits on his massive upside. Ivey joins Cade in the Detroit backcourt and think they will be a ridiculous duo for years to come both irl and in here. Future is now and the next 10 years for Irwin. |
Houston Rockets | 2, 9, 12, 17 | Paolo Banchero, Dyson Daniels, Ousmane Dieng, AJ Griffin | B+ | I have to be honest. This was a super tough team to try to grade. I'm lower on Paolo than concensus in here but still think hes gonna be really good for years to come. I love Dyson irl as more of a role player but dont think he produces that well in here due to his lack of offensive bag/scoring. He is an excellent passer, defender, and rebounder for his size but putting the ball in the hoop will hold him back in here imo. Dieng has wild upside but just as big of a floor. If OKC can develop him then free stole him at 12. AJ is so interesting cuz of his landing spot. Its so hard for non bigs to produce next to Trae combined with his injury history im a little scared. Talent is immense and his 3 point shooting is Elite. I think Kennedy Chandler dropped way too far just cuz of his size. He was mocked in the lottery for a lot of the year and is an amazing game manager and true point guard. |
Cleveland Cavaliers | 3 | Jabari Smith | A | I think Jabari Smith is the best player in the draft and if this wasnt Big Man 26 I would have taken him 1 overall in here so love the value at 3 for Cavs. Jabari is a baby KD. When you trade Jokic you better get a nice return. I think Garland and Jabari is a nice foundation for the future. |
Indiana Pacers | 5 | Jalen Duren | B | Duren is a liability from the perimeter and the free throw line and I don't see either of those things improving throughout his career. Good thing this is Big Man 26 where his value lies with rebounding, efficiency, double doubles, and blocked shots. I think he has an opportunity to be a monster in all those categories but I'm scared about his ability to stay on the floor late in games. He could be Zubac but he could also be prime Drummond which is a cheat code in here. |
Denver Nuggets | 6, 26 | Keegan Murray, Patrick Baldwin Jr | C+ | Keegan Murray was one hell of a bucket at the college level and the shooting splits are ridiculous. He came out of no where after barely playing his freshman year and the tools are all there but I hate the landing spot in sacramento who is supposedly in win now mode and not going to give him the time and touches to really develop especially with sabonis and fox eating up a ton of the usage. I think Murray is more of a role player at the next level and he's already 21 so I think the upside is fairly limited. Don't get me started with PBJ. I think I would rather have an actual PB&J. |
Portland Trailblazers | 7 | Shaedon Sharpe | A- | No secret with this pick here. I love it. The mystery man of the draft. I think the upside is similar to that of Jalen Green, Brad Beal, Zach Lavine. From the small amount of tape everyone has seen, Sharpe is a ridiculous athlete with elite creation tools. I love the landing spot for him in PDX a well. Giving up that Sac23 first is unreal sketchy but well see where it lands in a year. |
Miami Heat | 8 | Mark Williams | A- | I prefer Mark Williams to Duren. Dude was measured at 7'2 w/ a 7'8 wingspan. He blocked almost 3 shots a game and shot 72% from the field. His shooting stroke aint bad and he shot a cool 73% from the line. I think hes almost guranteed to be a monster in the PNR with Lamelo and has crazy defensive upside. If he can develop a 3pt shot its gonna be real scary. I see him as a Robert Williams type in here. |
Chicago Bulls | 10, 26 | Jeremy Sochan, Blake Wesley | B- | This is the most difficult part of the draft to be picking with a dudes that have a good amount of question marks. Sochan is similar to Dyson for me. I think hes a hell of a player and defender but in terms of production in here I am scared. I dont think hes a good creator for himself or others and his three point shooting is mediocre. Blake Wesley shouldnt have much playing time in SA his first couple years but if they can develop him that could be like whatever. Meh draft from the Chuckstar |
Utah Jazz | 11 | Bennedict Mathurin | B | I actually really like the irl landing spot for Ben in Indiana. He should get a ton of opportunity to hoop and develop. He's got all the tools you look for in a modern day wing and the guy is a competitor. Think he will be an impact player in the league for a long time. Will it result in a great fantasy output for years to come? Tough to say. |
Phoenix Suns | 13, 24 | Tari Eason, Nikola Jovic | B | Tari Eason is projects well for this leagues scoring and he should get good opportunity in a forward dry place like houston. He's a good rebounder, efficient, had almost 2 steals a game in college, and can produce in limited minutes. Jovic is the most polarizing mf'er in the draft. I have no idea if he will be good or not. He's got some nice tools but head out your back door and flip a coin with this dude. Heat culture wont hurt |
Atlanta Hawks | 14, 18 | Jake LaRavia, Dalen Terry | C- | I think Jake LaRavia is Ryan Anderson/ Georges Niang. I dont think hell ever be able to be anything more than a spot up 3pt shooter and his defense is so exploitable at the next level. Don't see any upside at all. I would have stayed at 8 if I was HawksMan and taken best available. Dalen Terry is a nice talent and think hell be a versatile player in the league for a while but i dont think he produces fantasy output in here. |
Dallas Mavericks | 15 | Jalen Williams | B- | Pickasso traded Middleton for his guy and he got him. Im pretty nuetral on Jalen Williams. He played 3 years of college ball at a mid major and really wasnt too impressive til his junior year. He's already 21 and is an average athlete but his massive wingspan made him fly in the draft He's really good in every aspect of the game and a pure hooper so i see him sticking around the league for while but i'm not sure i see the same things Kyle does. |
LA Lakers | 16, 27, 30 | Johnny Davis, Jaden Hardy, Christian Braun | B+ | I think Griff had a sneaky little draft in here. Johnny Davis fell right into his lap at 16 and I think has the opportunity to develop in Washington once Beal departs. Hardy has really nice upside for a late first in here and with the department of MoneyBag Brunson he could become a good 6th man for the Mavs. The Gleague makes it really tough to evaluate players as we saw with kuminga and JG last year so I think Hardy might surporise some people with his bucket getting at the next level. |
Memphis Grizzlies | 19 | Christian Koloko | A- | Ballsy selection by Royce taking the 33rd pick irl 19th in here but I love the fit in toronto for Koloko. The Raps have no good big men and have been looking for a rim protector for a while. I believe Koloko could be the starting C for the Raptors come the All Star break. Dude blocked almost 3 shots a game last year and is just massive. Perfect for BigMan 26. No secret everyone was looking to draft this dude in the end of the first round and royce said lick my gooch |
Washington Wizards | 20 | Ochai Agbaji | B | This dude is a flamethrower and can score the ball at will but I just dont know how much more he can develop. Dude is already 22 years old and played 4 seasons at Kansas. He kinda reminds me of Jalen Brunson in that the talent is ridiculous, he won a national championship, and fell in the draft due to age. Think best case for Agbaji is desomnd bane/lou williams type off the bench for Cleveland |
New Orleans Pelicans | 21 | Malachi Branham | C+ | I like Branham and hes an absolute sniper but the Spurs have about 100 young guards and wings to try to develop. I dont know where Branham fits on the priority list for SA but they have keldon, vassell, primo, sochan, Weseley, DJ, Lonnie, langford that need minutes. maybe pop just gives each of them like 18 minutes and says good luck johnny |
Boston Celtics | 22 | TyTy Washington | B+ | Just another Kentucky Guard falling to the mid to late first in a draft. I really like the fit for him in Houston. He will have the freedom to come in off the bench and just hoop. Hes a great creator and if he didnt get hurt at the end of the year i think he is a late lotto pick. |
Milwaukee Bucks | 23 | Walker Kessler | A- | The BigMan 26 special. This behemoth blocked almost 5 shots a game and had 8 rebounds in only 25 minutes. The Timberwolves have talked for a while about playing Towns next to a rim protecting big and this might be the dude. Upside in here for a later first round pick is ridiculous. I hate Jake |
Sacramento Kings | 31 | Bryce Mcgowens | B- | I like Mcgowens and if Bridges and Hayward leave I think he'll have a nice oportunity to play early on for Charlotte. |
Minnesota Timberwolves | 32 | Wendell Moore Jr | B+ | I really like WMJ in this spot. I think its pretty obvious Dlo isnt in the long term plans for minnesota and WMJ stuffs the stat sheet. Great distributor, defender, shooter, and is efficient on top of it all. Think he could be special if he gets to develop in Minny. |
