I am basing this analysis on expected fantasy output in 2021/22 relative to each player's contract. I am omitting players that are out for most of the season due to injury. Please do not take offense if one of your players is on this list.
1. Victor Oladipo, Los Angeles Lakers Contract: $21 million Expected Worth: $6.2 million (-$14.8 million value)
The good thing is this contract expires after this season, but for this season, yikes.
2. Andre Drummond, Indiana Pacers Contract: $25.86 million Expected Worth: $12.9 million (-$12.96 million value)
This contract was rapidly declining in value already, but Jon caught a bad break when Andre Drummond signed in Philly. He likely won't play more than 15 minutes a night when Embiid is healthy.
3. DeAngelo Russell, San Antonio Spurs Contract: $33 million Expected Worth: $21 million (-$12 million value)
DLo is the most expensive player in BBall26 and only projected to be 46th in fantasy points this season. That speaks for itself. However, Chris is tanking so this isn't going to hurt him.
4. Delon Wright, Los Angeles Lakers Contract: $17.5 million Expected Worth: $6.1 million (-$11.4 million value)
This contract was horrific the minute he was signed in restricted free agency. Delon is a member of what I like to call the "Million per Point Club". He will likely average fewer than 1 fantasy point per million that he is paid. Griff owns 2 of the worst 4 contracts in the league which makes it pretty impressive that his team could still make the playoffs.
5. Gary Trent, Denver Nuggets Contract: $17 million Expected Worth: $6.4 million (-$10.6 million value)
This was another contract that was bad the minute it was signed. Gary Trent's volume could go up a little bit, but I don't see any of his peripherals (assists, rebounds) increasing by enough to make him even nearly worth this contract.
6. Buddy Hield, Memphis Grizzlies Contract: $25 million Expected Worth: $15.1 million (-$9.9 million value)
Another contract that won't kill its owner since Royce is tanking. However, Buddy would be easier to trade if this contract wasn't in the way.
7. Kevin Love, Portland Trail Blazers Contract: $19.44 million Expected Worth: $9.5 million (-$9.9 million value)
Kevin Love is paid like a 30 pt scorer, but is going to be lucky to average 20 this year. Sorry Tyler.
8. Kelly Oubre, Detroit Pistons Contract: $17 million Expected Worth: $7.5 million (-$9.5 million value)
This contract is really bad, but it expires after this year and Irwin is tanking so he'll have a lot of extra cap if he wants to make a push next off-season.
9. Dennis Schroder, Miami Heat Contract: $14.75 million Expected Worth: $6 million (-$8.75 million value)
There is a world where this contract isn't awful. However, I don't see it this year and I am personally not a believer in Dennis. He will be an X-factor for Miami and if I am wrong then he could catapult Miami into Top 5 contention in the East
10. Ricky Rubio, Atlanta Hawks Contract: $17.5 million Expected Worth: $9.7 million (-$7.8 million value)
Bad.
Honorable Mentions: Kris Dunn (PHX), Klay Thompson (HOU), Oshae Brissett (DAL), Zach Collins (IND), Markelle Fultz (ORL), Eric Bledsoe (WAS)
