2020 Basketball Dynasty 26 Power Rankings - Week 14
1. New Orleans Pelicans (23-4) – "Westbrook is eating recently. My #1 team right now despite having the #30 GM." - this was my description before Salami went and swapped Westbrook, Precious, and Booker for Kyrie, Plumlee, and CP3. Plum is a shutdown candidate and Kyrie can go MIA at any second, but this gives the Pelicans even more firepower.
2. Golden State Warriors (19-8) – Some bad injury luck recently, but whenever this team is fully healthy they’re a top 3 team in this league.
3. Minnesota Timberwolves (24-2-1) - Team has performed better than I expected without AD. Zeller’s reduced role is a cause for concern.
4. Boston Celtics (19-8) – As I’ve mentioned, this team can’t seem to escape the injury bug and it’s been that way all year. Nothing’s changed with SGA going down again.
5. Los Angeles Clippers (21-6) – Say what you want about the West, the top 3 teams are beasts. With the acquisition of Gordon Hayward, Remy has the firepower to win against the Pelicans or Warriors. Mitchell Robinson’s injury hurts a lot, but hopefully Lonzo is back soon.
6. Chicago Bulls (19-8) – Mitch Rob’s injury obviously helps Noel’s production, giving Chuck a boost heading into the playoffs. Will this be the year Charles finally wins a ring? Probably not.
7. New York Knicks (22-5) – Early season trades for Zubac and Oubre are paying dividends, helping the Knicks to a very strong season. With Tobias now in the fold, no one wants to face this squad in the playoffs.
8. Milwaukee Bucks (22-4-1) – Starting to think teams I rank at #1 get cursed with some type of random injury. Lamelo’s injury seriously hurts this team, but if he comes back within the next couple of weeks Milwaukee just needs to win round 1 without him. Still looking for Jacob to make a move soon.
9. Atlanta Hawks (20-7) – Dame and Harden continue to carry the squad with Lord Covington performing admirably as the 3rd scoring option.
10. Miami Heat (18-9) – Another team that hasn’t been able to shake the injury bug this year. I still like this team a lot if they can make it into the playoffs, but they have to make it there first.
11. Charlotte Hornets (18-9) – Like Miami, fighting for their playoff lives right now. Gave up the farm for Dwight and Kuzma, they better hope it pays off or Hornets fans will be coming for their GM’s head.
12. Cleveland Cavaliers (19-8) – Lebron injury is nearly insurmountable…tough break for a great team and even better GM.
13. Los Angeles Lakers (19-8) – It’s been a tough stretch for the Lakers with Embiid, Oladipo, and Dort on the shelf along with Grant not playing as well as he had earlier in the year. Locked into a first round matchup vs the Warriors, Griff needs all his guys back ASAP.
14. Orlando Magic (16-11) – Christian Wood might’ve come back too late as this team is on the outside looking in for a playoff spot. If they can make it there, I think Orlando is a candidate to upset any team.
15. Washington Wizards (17-10) – Just not sure if this team is good enough to make the playoffs especially with Horford out for the year. Octy has pieced a playoff team together despite some bad injury luck, but this isn’t a Cinderella story.
16. Dallas Mavericks (12-15) – Imagine if Kyle hadn’t picked a bust at #3….(I'll give credit where credit is due, Kyle's team been on a roll and looks semi-dangerous)
17. Oklahoma City Thunder (10-17) – Picking up Westbrook and Booker helps the Thunder continue to contend now while Precious and the 1st will give them pieces for the future. Perfect trade by Loren.
18. Toronto Raptors (13-14) – A few questionable moves by Perk has this team questioning both its present and future. The DeAndre Jordan acquisition and cut was…puzzling.
19. Brooklyn Nets (10-17) – Sad year for Josh….focused more on playing “Escape from Tarkov” than focusing on improving his team. Interesting that he didn’t deal Derrick White or Lauri Markkanen at the deadline with both pending RFA
20. Portland Trailblazers (9-18) – Despite focusing on the future with the majority of his trades, Tyler has taken this team to a potential playoff berth in his first year in charge. The Moses Brown pickup is a strong candidate for signing of the year.
21. Sacramento Kings (8-19) – Somehow still in the playoff race…
22. Philadelphia 76ers (8-19)
23. Phoenix Suns (7-20) - Somehow still in the playoff race…
24. Indiana Pacers (7-20)
25. Utah Jazz (7-20) – Pitiful!!! Had a chance to actually compete this year, but TJ decided to tank instead. You hate to see it.
26. Houston Rockets (5-22)
27. Memphis Grizzlies (4-23)
28. Denver Nuggets (4-23)
29. Detroit Pistons (2-25)
30. San Antonio Spurs (2-25)
