I upped the years. It’s the same as raising the bid

Spurs is right, that won't apply for free agency. In restricted free agency, if 4 teams in the silent bid part of the RFA put in some offers, and there was an offer of 10 million for 3 years and 10 million for 1 year, technically in that bidding, the highest bidder is the 3 year contract (which the person can then choose to match or release, but in that situation you can't choose 2 year or 5 years or something, you're forced to match on the 3 years). So in free agency here where there is no silent bidding, all bids have to go up a minimum of .25 million, and a minimum of 3 years needs to be bid if the contract reaches 10 million or higher.
