Pacers - Warriors
The Trade
Golden State Warriors Trade:
Jon Isaac 20: $7.36 Mill (RFA)
Noah Vonleh $4.19 Mill (2023) Spurs cover 1 mill this year
Indiana Pacers Trade:
Chris Boucher $.75 Mill (2023)
Brandon Clarke $2.6 Mill (2023) RFA
Danuel House $.5 Mill (2020)
The Warriors can thank the Pacers for jumpstarting their championship contention this season. It feels like every year there is a 3 for 1 trade that ends up being ridiculous and this season was no different. At first glance, this seems like a smart move by Indiana as they allowed themselves to build around a young star and officially start their tank. However, when you evaluate the players sent the other way closely you are forced to ask yourself if there was any need for Indiana to tank in the first place? In a breakout campaign last season Jonathan Isaac posted 28 fantasy points a game, a number which has already since been matched and exceeded by Raptors breakout center Chris Boucher. Additionally, Brandon Clarke has continued to grow this season in the Grizzly offense, showing off some dazzling pick and roll skills and averaging almost 24 fantasy points a game. Danuel House Jr has not been too shabby either as the Rockets have gone to him even more after trading James Harden.
The Fallout
The sheer amount of fantasy points the Warriors obtained immediately thrust them into contention in the west and also provided them valuable assets to make additional moves.
Needless to say, the Warriors are contending for top scorer titles weekly and are strong favorites to make it out of the West to compete for the title. Whether they will win the championship or not is still up for debate, but it is safe to say that they made off with a massive haul for Jonathan Isaac that had league altering implications.

- Brandon Clarke was eventually paired with injury prone and overpaid forward Otto Porter to acquire the unicorn Kristaps Porzingis.
- Later, in perhaps their biggest move of the season, the Warriors were able to sell Boucher in a package for Heat superstar Jimmy Butler and Orlando backup center Khem Birch. Butler has been on fire since returning from his Covid related hiatus and has shown himself to be the perfect Robin to Steph Curry's Batman.
- In another move, they were able to use Danuel House as a trading chip to acquire even more win-now pieces in Seth Curry and Bojan Bogdanavic.
- Warriors were able to ultimately include Birch in a deal for Kings star De'Aaron Fox. Birch has since lost his consistent role on the team and his production has dropped off.
