2020 Basketball Dynasty 26 Power Rankings - Week 2
1. Minnesota Timberwolves (3-0) - Oh my! Minnesota detonated in week 2, becoming our first 1000 point scoring team this year. If Randle keeps this up for a whole season, Minnesota might just be the favorite to win it all.
2. New Orleans Pelicans (2-1) - At this point, the GM is the weakest link as Draymond would've made the difference had Salami started him on Friday.
3. Milwaukee Bucks (1-2) - Despite going 1-1, it was an amazing week for Milwaukee. Capela is back, Lamelo is getting more playing time, and Otto is balling. All is well in Milwaukee.
4. Orlando Magic (2-1) - Really starting to like this team! One of the biggest surprises of the year so far, Orlando looks like one of the true contenders out East.
5. Los Angeles Clippers (2-1) - Jalen Brunson alert!!! Big time performance from Brunson gives Clippers the W over Milwaukee in week 2. The DLo pickup is risky, but can push this team to the next level if/when he turns things around. Don't let the high point totals fool you though, the Clippers are tied for the most games played so far this year and are middle of the pack when you look at total FP/G.
6. Chicago Bulls (3-0) - Holmes looks like a great pickup and Kevin Love's injury ensures a few more weeks of consistent production for Nance. You look at this roster and you do wonder if they've already hit their ceiling with the players they currently have.
7. Boston Celtics (2-1) - Injuries to KAT and Marcus Morris have hurt this team early on and you'd like to see guys like SGA step up their production.
8. Golden State Warriors (2-1) - I really like the moves Caleb made this week. Anderson, McCollum, and Bridges for PG, DSJ, Nesmith and Lyles gives this squad some needed depth to make a deep run. McCollum is off to a great start, but will he finally be able to keep this up for an entire season?
9. Cleveland Cavaliers (3-0) - Jokic, Sexton, and Lebron is one of the best if not the best big 3 that this league has ever seen!
10. Brooklyn Nets (1-2) - With KD out for likely the majority of the week, Derrick White's return could not be more timely.
11. Miami Heat (2-1) - Signing Tyus Jones was a must after Morant's injury and the squad went 1-1 despite facing two of the toughest teams this week (Boston and Minnesota)
12. Los Angeles Lakers (3-0) - Jerami Grant is feasting right now and the Lakers are loving it. Coby White has been uber inconsistent so far. For this team to be a true contender, he needs to make a Sexton-esque jump in production.
13. Charlotte Hornets (3-0) - 2 big wins this week against Golden State and OKC means this bump in the rankings is well deserved. John Wall looks great and just needs to stay healthy to give this team another stud next to Ingram.
14. Toronto Raptors (2-1) - The Gallo injury hurts, but at least Bertans is back and knocking off the rust. Will WCS get more playing time in Dallas with Dwight Powell struggling?
15. Oklahoma City Thunder (1-2) - Despite a surprisingly close matchup with Memphis, OKC pulled out their first win of the year. Once Nurkic gets into shape, this team could easily move up the rankings.
16. Atlanta Hawks (2-1) - The Hawks pulled off the upset against New Orleans despite Harden missing a game this week. Javale McGee has been the surprise contributor so far and is consistently getting usage with Cleveland's 2nd unit.
17. New York Knicks (2-1) - TJ Warren joins Zeller on the IR and this team really can't afford another injury. The Muscala pick up has proven to be a much needed source of production for JSood.
18. Sacramento Kings (2-1) - A strong 2-0 week 2 coupled with the recent acquisition of PG13 gives me reason to bump up the Kings this week.
19. Portland Trailblazers (0-3) - Yikes! The injury bug strikes again with K Love and Blake Griffin is sitting out back to backs. This team needs a W in the worst way, but the Jazz and Hawks aren't easy wins.
20. Dallas Mavericks (0-3) - Losing MPJ to COVID hurts and adds onto a growing injury list in Dallas that includes Okoro, Okongwu, and Josh Jackson. WCJ has not looked good and it looks like it could be a long season for Kyle.
21. Washington Wizards (3-0) - The recent acquisition of MCW doesn't scare anyone, but he adds some much needed depth. With Saric also back, this team's arrow is pointed up.
22. Utah Jazz (0-3) - Despite the loss, Utah has looked more than respectable so far on the back of Terry Rozier.
23. Denver Nuggets (0-3) - 2 close losses drops Kev to 0-3. This team has potential if Kev can find a way to add some depth.
24. Detroit Pistons (2-1) - Deeeeeeeetroit basketball!! I'm not actually a fan of the Slo-Mo trade, I thought this team had a decent shot to compete this year but it never hurts to add some talent with an eye to the future with Nesmith.
25. Phoenix Suns (1-2) - Bledsoe looking a bit better, will he do enough to help Tyler flip him for future assets?
26. Philadelphia 76ers (1-2) - Barely beat the lowly Pacers...
27. Indiana Pacers (0-3) - Almost got a W vs Philly. Master-tanker Jon still finds a way to lose.
28. San Antonio Spurs (0-3) - Traded Richaun Holmes for a probable late 1st? Another questionable move by Chris, who is probably the biggest underperforming owner that this league has seen.
29. Memphis Grizzlies (0-3) - Deandre Jordan doesn't look great so far, making it less likely the Grizzlies will be able to trade him to a contender with that contract.
30. Houston Rockets (0-3) - Interested to see what De'Anthony Melton can do now that he's back and Morant is out with an injury.
1. Minnesota Timberwolves (3-0) - Oh my! Minnesota detonated in week 2, becoming our first 1000 point scoring team this year. If Randle keeps this up for a whole season, Minnesota might just be the favorite to win it all.
