2020 Basketball Dynasty 26 Power Rankings - Week 1
1. New Orleans Pelicans (1-0) - As if this team needed any more help, Darius Garland has looked like a stud through 3 weeks. If he keeps this up, this team may run the table this year.
2. Minnesota Timberwolves (1-0) - Coming into the year, depth was a concern. However, strong week 1 showings from Haliburton and Batum puts this team atop of my power rankings after 1 week of action.
3. Brooklyn Nets (1-0) - Are we sure Durant tore his achilles? Dinwiddie injury likely causes Levert's usage to go up and Markkanen is off to a strong start this year. One area of concern: Brook Lopez's slow start to the year, but you'd think he figures it out.
4. Boston Celtics (1-0) - Hate to lose a big piece like Towns this early in the year, but it doesn't sound overly serious so hopefully he doesn't miss too much time.
5. Chicago Bulls (1-0) - I have to give Chuck some love after his team scored the 3rd most points in the league this week, beating a Milwaukee team that's one of the favorites in the East. Depth is a strength and these guys are just balling out right now. If Noel gets going, watch out.
6. Milwaukee Bucks (0-1) - Anyone worried about Brandon Clarke yet? Slow start to the year for most of Jacob's guys, but the lone bright spot has been Dejounte Murray, who may finally have the year we've all been waiting for.
7. Los Angeles Clippers (0-1) - It will be huge for this team if Mitchell Robinson stays out of Thibodeau's dog house like he did this week.
8. Orlando Magic (1-0) - The Magic went bonkers this week, scoring the 2nd most points in the league. Fultz looked good and Bobby Portis might be a sneaky source of points if Lopez continues to struggle.
9. Golden State Warriors (1-0) - Boucher had a huge week and would give this team some much needed depth if he keeps this up. Think this team still needs at least one piece, but guys are performing as expected after week 1.
10. Toronto Raptors (1-0) - Gordon Hayward and Josh Richardson have wasted no time getting comfortable in their new environments and both look poised for career years. Alec Burks also balled out in week 1 - if he can continue this run it would go a long way to solidifying the depth of this squad.
11. Cleveland Cavaliers (1-0) - We all knew what we were getting with Lebron and Jokic, but wow you could not have asked for a better start to the season with Collin Sexton. Time will tell if this breakout is real, but right now he looks like a legit 3rd star for the Cavs.
12. Los Angeles Lakers (1-0) - Honestly, this team might belong higher. Jerami Grant finally looks like he's in a groove with his new squad and PJ Washington looks on his way to a breakout year. Depth is a strength here and Embiid can put up enough points to help this team keep up with anyone in the league.
13. Miami Heat (1-0) - Man, that Morant injury is a huge blow for this squad. Bry has some depth and just needs to hope his best player is back soon.
14. Oklahoma City Thunder (0-1) - Tough loss to start the year for OKC, but Kyrie looks great playing next to Durant and Plumlee is playing good basketball in Detroit. Expect the wins to start coming soon.
15. Portland Trailblazers (0-1) - The uncertainty around Kemba's return is unsettling and he'll likely be limited when he's back. On the bright side, Blake is still healthy and George Hill is doing some damage in Oklahoma City. This team has a lot of question marks, but with some good injury luck they can easily move into the top 10.
16. Charlotte Hornets (1-0) - Even with no John Wall, Charlotte put up a gaudy 514.5 points in week 1. Wiseman has looked great despite no preseason and if the Warriors continue to lose he will continue to get more minutes. DiVincenzo has had a great start to the year and could be another 20+ FPG scorer on this squad.
17. Atlanta Hawks (1-0) - Trey eked out a win over Kyle on the back of James Harden's 75 fantasy points vs Portland. With Dunn out indefinitely, Trey needs to make a move to add some firepower to the bench.
18. Dallas Mavericks (0-1) - MPJ is on the brink of becoming a fantasy stud, averaging 30 FPG early on this year. The 2nd leading scorer on this team? Josh Jackson...
19. New York Knicks (1-0) - Zeller injury hurts, but at least through one week it looks like this team might have enough depth to be a factor in the East. Muscala looks like a nice pick up so far, but I wouldn't rely on Nwaba and Tate to keep producing once the Rockets get their COVID players back.
20. Sacramento Kings (0-1) - David's season is off to a terrible start with a loss to the Lakers and losing Dinwiddie for the season. We'll see what moves David makes and how that affects this team for the rest of the season.
21. Washington Wizards (1-0) - Jonas Val looks amazing to start the year and should continue to get touches with Morant on the shelf. Can Barrett become more consistent? (44 points, 4 points, 25 points through 3 gaes)
22. Denver Nuggets (0-1) - Bogdan off to a shaky start and with a contract like that Kev needs him to turn it around sooner rather than later.
23. Utah Jazz (0-1) - Scary Terry! TJ actually has a solid mix of 20 FPG guys and should sneak out more wins than expected.
24. Philadelphia 76ers (0-1) - Edwards has looked great so far, Bagley is healthy, and Sabonis has been unstoppable. So far so good for the rebuilding 76ers and the future looks bright.
25. Detroit Pistons (0-1) - Slo-Mo will have an even bigger role with Morant out and is poised for a temporary boost to an already solid start to the year.
26. Indiana Pacers (0-1) - There were some questions about Drummond after a lackluster end to the year in Cleveland last year, but he's put those to bed after a couple nice games in week 1.
27. Phoenix Suns (0-1) - Welcome back Tyler! With an actual GM now at the helm, I can't wait to see what this team looks like by the end of the year.
28. San Antonio Spurs (0-1) - Can Payton build off his 40 FP game against Milwaukee?
29. Memphis Grizzlies (0-1) - It's been a very disappointing start to the year for Jaxon Hayes after Memphis dealt Chris Paul for him.
30. Houston Rockets (0-1) - Killian Hayes looks like a rookie so far, but you couldn't ask for a better mentor in Derrick Rose. Hayes should only continue to improves as he learns the NBA game.
