BasketballDynasty26 2019 POST DRAFT/FA POWER RANKINGS.
Just a little somethin somethin on where I think teams stand and some thoughts on their off-season moves. They're not as pretty as Caleb's but the content should be run to read. As always, these are just my opinions and I’m just one guy, so don’t take it too seriously, I appreciate everyone being here <3 Enjoy.
30. Utah Jazz.
God damn TJ I couldn't believe it either but you really do have what is probably gonna be the worst team in the league. It's not all bad with Conley at the top, but with Nurkic out for the whole year and the rest of your roster comprised of mid to late round draft picks... gonna be a long season in Utah. One bad year and I think you'll be back though, hopefully u can get rid of Conley for something eventually and one of these picks breakout, I like KPJ. Tyus Jones is also nice for fantasy as he's a steals stud and should see some time in MEM. Everyone eventually has a rebuilding season, and with most of the league looking to take that next step, it's TJ's turn to have a rebuilding year.
29. Los Angeles Lakers.
This is definitely a team I thought would be looking to add on to his former core of Embiid-Tobias-Richardson this off season and look to compete this year. However, Griff had different plans and flipped Tobias/JRich for a top 5 pick and more future 1sts. Not the worst move considering this is a dynasty. He's still got Embiid, a multitude of young guards in Sexton, Brunson, White, and Culver. He also has Joe Harris on a great 2 year contract @ $250K. This is forsure going to be a fun team to own, any of those guards could become studs and Lakers does own his pick next year so another stud could be on the way. He also missed out on Klay so he still has 30+M of cap room. Honestly think it was a blessing he missed on Klay bc tying up 25+M to a shooter (granted the greatest shooter of all-time) would have severely capped him for next years free agency.
28. Orlando Magic.
Promising young team here, Perry and his Magic could definitely finish higher than I have them here. Turner and Kanter make up a solid big man duo. I loved the Huerter pickup and Troy Brown Jr. should see all the time he can handle in Washington this year. I really am not sold on the Fultz for Miles Bridges deal. I know Perry's a Magic fan but this guy Fultz still isn't cleared. I don't even know what's wrong with this guy anymore but I really hope he can do something this year. I feel like he could put up a lot of empty stats which is great for fantasy. The best part of this team is Tatum and Isaac, I can see both taking huge strides this year and honestly owning that duo will be a thrill if Perry keeps both of them. Again, I think the Magic could finish better than last year but I think it's gonna be another developing type year.
27. Phoenix Suns.
Interesting off-season for Terrence and his Suns. He definitely is trying to build a young team and got some good pickups in the draft in Hachimura and Okeke. He dealt off Jerami Grant to dump cap or get picks, I'm not sure, I didn't like it. Then he dealt of Holmes for more cap space to go all in on Klay. Oh man did he go all in. $25M for Klay Thompson. .... I really hope Klay comes back even better and adds even more peripheral stats post-KD. I think he can but damn that is a big ass contract for a guy that hasn't even averaged 30 fppg here yet. The irony is great too, Suns dealt Klay last year to Knicks for picks I believe. Full circle I guess. In other news on this team, Bledsoe is coming off arguably the best season of his career in Milwaukee, he should be in for another great year. Monk, Brooks, and Gary Harris all need to continue to grow for Suns to win some more games this year. Team has young pieces and talent, I just hope these huge contracts don't come back to hurt him.
26. Washington Wizards.
Last season was the first season I think I’ve ever seen Ocstuff have a losing season. He’d had a perennial playoff team for about 7 years between 25 and 26. Big contract players that didn’t produce and a multitude of injuries derailed him last season. However, he hit the lotto and landed the 2 pick and drafted Barrett. I think a lot of people would’ve went Ja, but Wiz has some expensive PG’s on the roster that he believes in this year in Reggie Jax, IT, and Schroeder. Personally I still would’ve went Morant but Barrett is no slouch. I have this team low in the rankings but honestly they could get in the playoffs in the East. He’s got some nice pieces in Otto, McKinnie’s role should grow in GSW, Sekou is young and should see time in Detroit, and Saric can play. Honestly I would’ve kept Bam if I was Wiz but having Jah Okafor and Thomas Bryant on min contracts is great since they should produce as well. Jonas V should be solid this year in Memphis too. Honestly a lot to fucking like on this team, Ocstuff should be back in the playoffs in no time.
25. Miami Heat.
Oh boy Sanjul has had an interesting off-season. Not sure what’s going on in Heat land to be honest, Justin Anderson got way overpaid and he didn’t really bid on any FA’s at all. However, keeping flexibility and not over-paying for mediocre players can be a good thing. Lots of bright young, blue chip talent on this team, Fox should keep ascending and be good for close to 33-35 fppg this year. I’m a huge Bagley fan and think he should be unleashed this year. Perfect for this league’s scoring as well. Ayton was very solid his rookie year and should be pushing 35+ fppg this season. Bryan also got De’Andre Hunter at 9 in the draft and that was a steal imo. Lonnie Walker is a nice player that should see some time this year. Not a whole lot of depth on this team at all so they will definitely struggle but the young star power should win him some games. Bryan has for sure found some great young players after rebuilding since we started, he should get another good pick this coming year. Hopefully next year the time to win now starts.
24. Dallas Mavericks.
Ah good ole Royce. I love my asian homie Royce so it’s tough to put him this low but with a lack of players in a loaded West, I can’t see Royce keepin’ up his “make the playoffs, lose in the first round” streak. Obviously he’s got LeBron who could get hot and win any matchup for him if he has the games. All hail the king. However the king is gonna rest this year but he could be pissed and have an MVP year. If that happens, Royce will finish higher than I have him here. Mavs made a move for DRuss this off-season, dealing Oladipo and getting rid of Taj’s contract. Royce also got Josh Jackson who should be okay on a rebuilding Memphis squad this year. A lot of GM’s around the league believe Royce lost that trade, but imo it was pretty even and not bad. Royce also signed Kieff Morris this off season and he should be solid in Detroit. Dinwiddie is a nice piece who should get his in Brooklyn this season and score around 26. And yeah that’s about there is for this off-season in Dallas, roster is at 9 players and the depth will kill this team. One injury to one of his top guys and it could get bad. I love you Royce but this year ain’t gonna be pretty as is.
23. Charlotte Hornets.
Another team I like a lot looking at, Keenan could definitely finish higher than here. He’s got one of the nicer young trios in the league in Lonzo, Ingram, and Collins. Say what you want about Zo, but he can fill up the stat sheet and percentages don’t matter here so he’ll be good. If he can stay healthy, I can see him approaching 30 fppg in New Orleans. Collins was a beast last year and should be even better this year. Averaged 32 last year, look for him to approach 35 fppg this coming year. Dude is still on a cheap rookie deal too, blue chip. Ingram is interesting, he’s not really a stat sheet stuffer so he’s never been good in fantasy really. He had a really good period when he put up some numbers last season before he got hurt though. Honestly I think him staying healthy, putting up about 25 fppg this season in New Orleans, would be a great year for him. Keenan had an interesting FA, I love the Wall for $23M signing. He’ll be out the whole year but this isn’t gonna be a title year in Charlotte anyway. The Gasol for $22M 3 year signing is not my favorite and definitely an overpay but hey, he’ll produce for Keenan at least. There’s also depth on this team in Trier, Clarkson, Waiters. I like what Keenan is building, look for this team to challenge for an 8 seed in the East and possibly be really good next year.
22. Brooklyn Nets.
A lot of people might disagree with this team here and Josh might hate me, but idk, I just don’t see it this year in Brooklyn. Josh was pegged to be really good last season and possibly take over the East. However, injuries and some shit luck happened, Levert, Parker getting exiled etc. Durant was there for all of it though and I believe Durant being out the entire year is gonna limit his team. Luka is no doubt a blue chip, that Spida for Luka trade is looking like shit for Jho lmao. Look for Luka to average close to 38 fppg this year. Derrick White is a very nice player and even with Murray back, he should still see some quality minutes. Levert was a nice surprise last year and should be looking to build on last year without Durant playing yet in BKN. Parker was pretty good for fantasy last year in Washington when he played, I think 25-26 is what he’ll be around this year in Atlanta. Aaron Gordon is solid but costing 30M. Zach Collins has opportunity this year in Portland and if he produces big, then Nets will finish higher than this. Honestly there’s a lot of young depth on this team, Simmons, Thybulle, and Denzel could develop nicely. Josh also had a nice draft and targeted guys on the Warriors like Paschall and Smailagic who could carve out roles on a thin Warriors roster. I like Josh’s future I really do, I just can’t trust his young guys to run the East yet.
21. Houston Rockets.
I really wanna put this team higher, Tony has done a great job of improving this team for the future and present. The Lowry deal was nice for him imo, he got the best player and Lowry can fucking carry a team when he’s hot and not hurt. He doesn’t get a lot of love around here because he’s older, expensive, and injury prone but you could do a lot worse. Augustin at 9.75 for a year is an overpay for sure but it won’t hurt his future since it’s only for one year. If Fults keeps doing Fultz things, Augs will be okay in ORL anyway. Hart and Alexander-Walker are a nice duo of young guards in New Orleans that should keep growing and are nice dynasty pieces to have. The Nance was resigning was a must imo he should continue to grow in Cleveland and has a very fantasy-friendly game. He may score 30 fppg this year. Marcus Morris, Trevor Ariza, RLopez were all solid FA signings and should produce this coming year. Morris was especially good last year and even in a crowded situation in New York, his talent should get him time. Ariza is aging but will produce 20+ for sure as well. This could be the year Rockets gets in the playoffs and even if he doesn’t, it’s looking good for the future of Houston.
20. Detroit Pistons.
Merv had a typical off-season, some nice draft picks and some small-time FA’s with little to no trades made. I really liked the McDaniels pick. Guduric was also a nice signing that could see some time in Memphis this coming year. This Pistons team actually made the playoffs in the East last year off a solid Kawhi and LaVine season even without KLove. Obviously Kawhi is a beast and good for 40 fppg when he’s doing the load management parade. Lavine should continue to put up empty stats in Chicago and hopefully finally hit 30 fppg? I don’t know, I’m not a fan personally but he’ll be putting up numbers. I think Love being back is gonna help this team a ton and he should be good for around 32 fppg. Maybe he even gets moved to a contender and doesn’t have to rest or take extended rest because of injuries. Last year was a disaster for Love fantasy wise and honestly it can’t be worse. Mikal Bridges and Bojan Bogdanovic are nice role players that are young and should continue to grow. Also on very manageable contracts. This team is solid with stars and some depth so I think the playoffs in the East are where they’re gonna be at for sure as it stands.
19. Philadelphia 76ers.
Been an interesting off-season for the 6ers. Long time owner, Chris had to step down for personal reasons. He had a pretty solid run here, playoffs all 3 years. The new owner is a friend of Loren’s and not gonna lie it’s good we replaced a smart owner with another smart owner. Kyle will not budge for me trade-wise so that’s always a good sign . 6ers lost DLo this off-season and honestly there was nothing he could do, it was DLo or KAT and Kyle resigned the right guy. No huge moves have been made, Kyle added Aminu, Ellington, Ilyasova, and Baynes from Free Agency. All solid depth additions and decent contracts that won’t hurt his future. The team still has KAT and DeRozan at the top who will both score similar to last year, Lopez, Hood, Rondo, and Napier round out his depth. I think Rondo could be the x-factor on this team, he could be healthy and post some decent stats this year in LA or he could be replaced or get hurt. Hood was okay in the playoffs but Portland has so many forwards and he’s a shooter which isn’t all valuable here. Napier could see some time behind Teague this year and BroLo had a great year last year, I’d expect a similar year. Look for 6ers to fight for a playoff spot this year, it’s gonna be tough even though his team has made it all 3 years, more East teams are looking to compete and losing DLo is tough.
18. Indiana Pacers.
He’s gonna hate me for it, but it ain’t lookin’ too hot this year Jho. Obviously the Cousins situation has capped this team severely. He’s making $27M for the next 3 years. *Moment of silence.* Let’s get into the parts of this team. Jho opened up the offseason signing Delon Wright to a huge 17.5M 3 year deal. While I think Wright has some nice potential, this is definitely an overpay in the largest fashion. Wright better have a nice ass year. I could see him averaging 24-25 in Carlisle’s system though. Getting Monte Morris at the end of last season was a baller ass move honestly, Morris will play and I can’t wait until he’s out of Denver and get’s starter minutes somewhere. Spida Mitchell struggled a bit last year and I think some people expected more from him. He still put up 28 fppg and should get around that this year, hopefully 30. The Jazz are definitely better though so he might get a few less touches. At the top, Randle and Drummond will carry this team almost every week. Drummond may not be everyone’s favorite IRL but he scores huge here and puts up numbers. Randle is also the man in NYC and I got confidence he’ll be around 34 fppg this season. The rest of Jho’s team and this is honestly why I don’t think he’s gonna do as good as he thinks, is made up of rookies. He has some very talented high end rooks though, Clarke should play in Memphis and looks perfect for this league, Williams was a good pick even though he won’t play much this season in Boston, and Claxton has talent but same thing will see very limited time. Jho also put together the best young duo in the league in Bol and TACKO so props. Overall I think this team was firmly in the playoffs with a healthy Cousins (even last year Cuz was a 30 fpt scorer), but it’s gonna be a fight without him. It’s such a shitty situation cuz Jho is stuck with him.
17. San Antonio Spurs.
I got Chris and the Spurs rollin’ up at about the middle of the league and I think it’s the right spot. Last season was a disaster in San Antonio, injuries really fucked this guy. Batum falling off faster than I expected (Chris too) honestly didn’t help either. My guy didn’t even hit the lotto, he got pick 7 or something. Vonleh also lost value this off-season when he went to Minny and Payton may start in NYC but DSJ is going to play more if and when the Knicks start sucking dick. Everything that could’ve gone Chris’s way hasn’t and I think he really does know his shit, sometimes luck in fantasy just isn’t there. I think he’s building something solid here, he got Paul George in the balla deal of the offseason, losing his long time beloved guy in Capela and his first next year. I think it was the right thing to do, getting Tier 1 stars is never easy here and there was a window to do it, with Kev needing a center. Now all Chris has to do is make his pick not suck and he wins the deal, pending PG’s health. He resigned Payton to start the off-season which was always the plan I believe. Payton is a sneaky great fantasy player, especially in a league like this. All he needs to do is stay healthy and I think he could approach 30 per in NYC. In another big get this summer, Chris got Josh Richardson and a 1st for Covington, which I think was a fantastic move. Cov might score more but he’s not always healthy. I think J-Rich has huge potential and even in Philly where a lot of mf’ers need the ball, I think his talent will show. I’d look for him to be around 26-27 per this year. After those 3, it gets murky, Little has talent but it’s gonna be tough for him to get minutes in a crowded Portland wing rotation. Poetl should score around 20 in San Antonio. Birch and Muscala are solid depth guys and Vonleh should get around 20 in Minny. I didn’t like the Roberson pickup at all, dude has not been healthy for a year and while he has opportunity in OKC, all he is a shooter and defender, I think he averaged around 18 here last time he was healthy. And then Batum, oh how I used to love this guy. He was great for fantasy until about a year ago. If Spurs is gonna make some noise this year, Batum having a 23-25 fppg year would be huge. Batum was great in Portland, hopefully he can do something in Charlotte before they tank it up. Chris also has 10M and some roster spots to fill so he’s not done yet.
16. Portland Trail Blazers.
Honestly, I love this teams core and I’m happy we have someone that will be active, set lineups, and overall knows what to do with this team now. My good friend Free took over this off season and while he hasn’t made any huge moves, keeping the core together is probably the best thing to do. Beal is a Tier One star in my opinion nowadays especially without Wall, and I think he can hit 38 fppg. At shooting guard, a scare position here, that is fucking gold. Kemba had his best year last year and I think that’s as good as he’ll ever be but he should be able to put up 32 fppg in Boston this season. Lauri Markkanen can be a stud man, I wouldn’t say he had a good year last year either with the injuries. If he stays healthy, he will for sure average more than 30 and on a rook contract, you can’t beat that. I also think Free drafted very well, better than I expected tbh. Goga has a ton of talent and should play in Indy even though they have a crowded front court. Mann is a talent but is a ways off minutes for now. The depth on this team is okay I guess? KCP, Forbes, Lyles, Wagner all have talent and are capable of being 20 fppg guys. The x-factor on how this team does is going to be decided by Wiggins. All the talent in the world man. I’ve heard he’s pissed and ready to fuck up the league this season, we’ll see. If Wiggins figures it out, Portland is gonna have something scary. This team also has a few roster spots to fill so they’re not done yet either.
15. Los Angeles Clippers.
Ah fucking Remy. Yes, I know you’ll take my player but you cannot have him okay?? Fuck this guy might be the most annoying dude to try to trade with in the league. Ily tho Remy you add a lil character to the league. For all his antics though, dude is building a solid team. Jimmy Buckets is the man in Miami and should go back to his Minnesota production. I like him at around 35 fppg this season. Trae Young is gold here because percentages don’t matter. He almost hit 30 last season, I like him around there this season with the chance to do a little more. Trae’s on a rook contract as well so obviously he’s a blue chip. Remy got Winslow for pennies on the dollar since Cavs wanted anything in return so that was a decent get I guess? I don’t know, Winslow at 17M is not ideal and I have questions about what his role in Miami this year is with a healthy squad. Getting Jerami Grant for a late 1st was a great move as even though he’s on a deep Denver team, he’ll play. Should be around 26 fppg. Signing Whiteside at 16.75M was a great move as that price is not horrible and he’s a beast for this league. Averaged 30 in a down year and now has all the opportunity in Portland with Nurkic out for the year. Dedmon at almost 15M is an overpay for sure but he should be around 25 fppg this year for the Kings and Remy had money to throw, so why the fuck not. The draft picks of Reddish and Cam Johnson were okay, I don’t like Johnson’s prospects this season but Reddish could be really fucking good. The depth on this team is young and decent as well, Kennard, Allen, Kleber and Holmes will contribute. Overall this team is young and trending in the right direction, another playoff appearance for Remy is on the horizon.
14. Memphis Grizzlies.
Luke has been a winner in this league ever since the start of 25. He understands the scoring, his team is always stacked in the frontcourt. He started off the off-season by resigning CP3 and I think it was the right move. CP is def declining but he should be able to able to score 35 fppg this season in OKC and will be motivated to show a contender he can still ball. DJ signed with the Nets this off-season and no doubt hurt his value, but he will get minutes in Brooklyn and produce. He showed FT improvement last season as well. He’s also Durant’s buddy so BKN is gonna keep him happy. I think 28-30 fppg this season from DJ is a good expectation, he’s perfect for this league whether he starts or not. Grizz also matched on WCS at $13.1M which is a great price. Marc Gasol went for $22M and I’d argue WCS is the better option for a dynasty league. WCS should fit in great in GSW and could finally breakout. I’d say he approaches 30 fppg this season as a good bet. Kuzma is a great piece for this league, cheap rookie deal and will get every chance this season in LA to be a star with no Boogie. He averaged 24 last year and will definitely improve on that. The kid can flat out score and while peripheral stats aren’t a strong suit for him, he’ll still score nicely here. After those 4 pieces, there’ some depth on this team but moves definitely need to be made if Grizz is going to be as good as he was. Burke, Temple, Olynyk are all solid role guys here. If Faried can find a team, he’ll score decently and that will be a huge boost to Grizz. Derrick Jones Jr. was a great find by Grizz last year and Miami is high on him so that’s a great sign as well. If DJJ can hit 20 fppg this season, it’d be a major boost as well. Luke still has 2 more roster spots to fill out and $15M so don’t count him out. Couple more improvements and he could challenge for a top 6 playoff seed in the West again.
13. Oklahoma City Thunder.
My baby boy (or caleb’s baby boy) Loren has come a long way. He used to fall for all the trade baits I’d give him in 25 but now he’s all grown up and a real fuckin asshole to deal with. Because of this, he has managed to turn his team around and I think he’s got a solid perennial playoff team now. Last year, he could’ve challenged for an 8 seed but injuries killed him. At the top he’s got Kyrie, bonafide star and should get his Brooklyn this season no matter what. Maybe he’s happy now too so that helps or something I dunno. Expect 40 fppg. His next best piece is probably Sabonis, who is gonna cost him a fuck ton next year in RFA. I like Sabonis a lot and I think he can approach 30 fppg this season but Indy’s crowded frontcourt is scary to me. They got so much talent on that team IRL, Larry Bird is really doing good things on a side note. Lor matched on BP the scary eyed tortoise this off-season and it was decent at 14M. Portis is a solid 25 fppg guy even in a 6th man role in NYC. Barton had a down season last year, Denver’s depth and injuries really derailed him. I think he can bounce back this year and average around 23 but he is costly at 14M and Denver is deep. It’s not a terrible asset but he can produce if he stays healthy, the talent is there. Lor also stole Lowry from Kev for pennies on the dollar this off-season and I think he probably should’ve kept Lowry. He dealt him for Teague, RHJ, and Shamet. Depth does win championships but I’m not high on RHJ this year and Teague is like Lowry but not nearly as good. Shamet doesn’t close the gap in my opinion either. Overall, Loren got Lowry for nothing and dealt him for close to even value so it’s not all bad. This team also has Bogdan Bogdanovic whose a solid piece but Sacramento has a lot of wings this season, I’d look for him to be around 23 fppg. Lot of depth on Loren’s team honestly as well, EG, Shamet, Scott, Chandler are all good pieces. Loren should have cap next year to resign Saboner and Boggy so things are looking good in OKC. Look for Baby Lor to return to the playoffs and have a nice year.
12. Cleveland Cavaliers.
If I had a graph to show you of Jon’s tenure here, it would be going up, up, and up. Cavs started a rebuilt 3 years ago and I think he’s about ready to really compete these next coming years. He went 9-5 and made the playoffs last year without even trying to do that so that’s a good sign. He’s got the Joker aka Jokic aka cheat code so yeah. Not much to say, stud, top 5 player in the league, maybe the best asset, please trade him to me. Then his next best piece probably is Mitchell Robinson. All the fantasy “experts” got this guy breaking out. There’s a lot to like, he blocks shots like his fucking life depends on it and he rebound/shoot. Not a hard breakout guy to call, NYC believes in him which is important as well. He’ll probably be good for 30 fppg + and is on a cheap ass rookie deal so good shit Cavs enjoy it. He’s also got Jamal Murray who is a tad better IRL than fantasy imo since Denver is deep and his peripheral stats aren’t huge. I like him at around 28 fppg this season and he’s gonna cost Jon a pretty penny to resign next year in RFA. Honestly, Cavs could be higher if he really went all win now mode but I think he’s playing the long game and enjoys building his dynasty. His depth is made up of young guys with a lot of potential. Ross and Thompson are both solid for this league and Thompson can really help if he stays healthy and the Cavs don’t tank it up too soon. Jarren Jackson Jr. is another guy on a rookie deal that should have all the opportunity in the world in Memphis. Cavs is really building his team on young bigs that are studs and you love to see it. Keep up the great work there sir.
11. Boston Celtics.
BMan is gonna disagree and thinks his team should be higher but I’m ranking this based on where I think teams will finish this year, not on future assets. IMO, BMan you have done a great job turning around Yacob’s mess and your set to have a Pelicans like team if you keep it up. BMan definitely opened the off-season with a splash signing DLo for 33M a year. He then flipped him for Dipo and a future 1st. I think it was an okay move, considering Dipo is much cheaper DLo but he had to take on Taj and lost Josh Jackson. The move helped his future but hurt him this season a bit. Indiana is really good and I think will ease Dipo back this year. Celts also drafted very nicely this summer, Fernando should play right away in Atlanta and he got him in the 2nd round, Hayes is also a great young piece that won’t do a lot this year but he could be a stud. The PG’s BMan has are insane, he resigned Rozier who will get a lot of chances to eat in Charlotte this season, him at $11M isn’t a bad contract either. Look for him at around 26 fppg this season. Ja Morant is gonna be a stud as well, I’d look for him at about 25 fppg this season and will have some exciting rookie moments. SGA is a blue chip too IMO, the kid can play and gets to learn from CP3 this season. He won’t fuck the world this year but will have every opportunity in the future to do it. BMan picked it up Ish Smith as well who should get some time in Washington this season. Bridges is going to get every opportunity to play in Charlotte this season and is good. 24 fppg from him this year is a nice year. Celts also landed Abedayo who is set to get all the minutes in Miami this season and should be a 30 fppg scorer. He’s on a nice contract as well since it’s a rookie deal. Paying 9.75M for Jordan Bell was probably the worst move BMan made this off-season but Bell could do a little something in Minny, not a 9.75M worth but it’s not awful. His team is rounded out with Bacon, Anuboy, MKG, and Taj. Decent depth pieces. Overall I love this team’s future and like I said if BMan plays his cards right this season and the upcoming off-season he could have a dynasty on his hands.
10. Atlanta Hawks.
Ah trey trey. Trey really lost the East last year by less than 5 fpts. He went all in too so naturally his team is gonna be a bit worse this year. Depth is the main issue on this team. Let’s get to the good first. Harden. Cheat code. I don’t think yall understand how having Harden on your team in a pts league like this literally allows you to win any matchup. He had stretches last season that were just so stupid. He’ll average 50 fppg + and he may rest or take it easy this season but I don’t believe it until I see that. James Harden lives for the regular season. He’s got Dame also to give him the best duo in the league and Dolla is good for 40 fppg as well. Not much to say, team is top heavy as fuck. Trez Harrell was the surprise of the season last year and look for him to do similar things this year and average about 28 fppg. He’s also on a great contract @ $1M for 2 years so props. Rudy Gay and Joe Ingles are above average depth guys and should each be good for about 25 fppg. Then he’s got Tyler Johnson, Bellinelli, and Iggy. Low end depth guys that will score some points for him. And yeah that’s about it, he has McDermott too but he doesn’t do enough stat wise. Trey will make the playoffs but getting back to the ECF is going to be tough with 8 effective players. I’d look for some depth or to collect some assets in future assets if I was Trey. He hadn’t made the playoffs ever until last year and almost got to the finals so he’s there, it’s just about sustaining it now.
9. Denver Nuggets.
I got the defending 14-0 reg season all stars of Kevin a little lower than he probably expects but it’s more about the rest of West buffing up. Also he lost Lowry for Herro basically in one of his trades this off-season and that was a huge mistake if he’s about winning now. I guess it gives him flexibility and helped him sign some guys but I digress. He got Capela and Spurs 1st next year for PG which was a good move for him IMO. He had no center and now he gets one of the top young C’s in the league who scores 38 fppg. He’s also healthy and it’s nice to get a pick as well. Brogdon is probably the next best piece on the team and in Indy as the starting point guard, he should be around 28 fppg. Solid contract at about $15M as well. Thad Young was solid last year @ 25 fppg but in Chicago as a backup I think he’s around 20-22 fppg. Kyle Anderson is injury prone but should get time in Memphis when he plays and should be around 23 fppg. He’s expensive though at $12M so Kevi needs him to produce and have a bounce back year. Pat Bev was his big FA pickup at 14M and it’s definitely an overpay but he’s a guy that doesn’t miss games and should be good for about 22 fppg. The rest of his depth is solid in Joseph, Mudiay, Holiday, Harkless, and Herro. Kev definitely is not as strong as he has been in the past but I think he’s realizing that sustaining success is about having dealable assets and some players on great contracts. A perennial playoff team and former champ, Kev should be back there in no time.
8. Sacramento Kings.
Davie has known his shit since 25 and has always been a great owner. He’s usually had a pattern of one so-so season, then a solid as fuck season. Last season, he snuck in the playoffs at 7-7 and injuries hurt him but this year I think he’s ready to be a West powerhouse. Ben Simmons is the star of this team and whether he gets a jumper or not, he’s gonna be a 40 fppg scorer here. McCollum is the next big piece and while he’s expensive as fuck @ $28M for shooting guard, he scores good for a SG. I think if he can hit 27 fppg that’d be a great season for him. Swapping Hayward for Millsap was a great move for Davie, opens up his future cap space and Milly should have one more year of 25+ fppg production in him. Davie had a great FA period as well, some pricey fucking signings but the depth he got from FA will help him a fuck ton this year. McGee @ 9.75 looked pricey but then Cousins went down and he should have the same role as last year. Look for JAVALE MCGEE at 27 fppg and to have some huge fucking games. Tucker, Noel, Bazemore, were all great signings and should be good 20 + fppg. DFS, Bradley, Hill, Cook, Hernangomez are not bad depth pieces either and will help tremendously. Look for the depth of this team to carry Davie to a 10+ win season.
7. Golden State Warriors.
Caleb got slapped in the face IRL and has been busy but I think we all know this kid knows his shit and has a top team regardless. I also appreciate him setting up everything and keeping the league alive to this day <33. This squad has a top 3 trio of Steph, Vucevic, and Blake which is better than any big 3 in the league. All these guys should average close to 40 and carry Warrs week to week. Vuc had his coming out party last year and I don’t see it slowing down, he should be every bit as good this year. After those 3, how good this team gets really depends on how his young guys develop. Caleb has an eye for talent and definitely could have some guys breakout. I like McGruder to have a solid season in LAC because Kawhi gonna Kawhi and rest 20 games about probably. Knox honestly is not in a good spot with NYC stockpiling wing players this off-season. I’d have Wars higher in the rankings if I believed in Knox but I need to see him breakout, I’m not calling it. Len should be the Atlanta center and good for 25 fppg, that’s a pretty solid prediction. Wood, Bembry, and Burks are all solid depth pieces that could breakout and put up some production if they get PT. Caleb also did well in the draft to get Okpala and find Terrence Davis. Davis could get some time in Toronto if they blow it up. Overall, Caleb’s gone 11-3 every season of 26 and IMO he’s a couple moves away from getting back there this season.
6. Chicago Bulls.
Gonna put myself here, I don’t need to gas myself up much either. I got a squad and while they ain’t flashy or pretty, they produce. Dragic and Plumlee @ 9.75 contracts were solid gets from FA especially if All Star Dragon returns this season. Dealing off Adams will no doubt hurt this year but I love Lamb. A $750K contract for a guy like Lamb is so valuable. LMA Lou Will and Ibaka are all no doubt guys, a 34 fppg guy, 25 fppg guy, and 28 fppg guy is great. I also think Lou has another really nice year sans SGA and Kawhi resting a lot. But yeah I may not be at the level I was last season but the future will be bright in Chicago. Also I’m 35-7 since 26 started so SMD BMan. Two-time defending Eastern Conf. Champs will get a title soon I fucking swear that shit’s eluded me since 25. (Old spurs dealing 30M of future cap to get players and win a title was some BS) All I do is win.
5. Minnesota TimberWolves.
Probably the most surprising ranking. I love this team. The decision to not resign Wall might’ve been a head scratcher to some but I think they made out pretty well this off-season. Anthony Davis sat so much last season and I think he’s hungry this year to go crazy and play all 82. That’s a top 3 guy for sure. Then Zion. Holy fuck this kid has the chance to be a 35 fppg scorer right off the fucking bat. The duo of AD and Zion will no doubt rival Harden and Lillard as the best in the league. The depth is so strong on this team as well. Oubre, Brown, and Wendell are all young and growing. Oubre is a 25 fppg guy and Wendell could hit 30 fppg soon if he can stay healthy. I’m not the highest on Jaylen Brown but if he figures it out, he could be a 25-27 fppg type guy. Redick, THJ, and Looney are all solid as fuck guys too. 20 fppg guys that are gonna round out his top 8? Big things coming for this team. If Kris Dunn can do anything this year or hold it down in Chicago, that’d be a huge boost as well, maybe Jordan Poole carves out a role off the GSW bench as well. Overall the future is so fucking bright in Minnesota and Raph has done a terrific job.
4. Toronto Raptors.
Big Perk a Perk lowkey has a fucking squad here. The team has depth out the ass and guys that can score with the best of them up top. He recently made a move for Steven Adams, losing Lamb and getting rid of JaMychal’s Green contract. Yeah the move hurt his future, but those picks are gonna be late if he keeps his current core intact. Gallo, Horford, and Adams are all around 30 fppg guys. Gallo staying healthy is key and I like Adams to hit 32 fppg this year as his floor. I don’t think ya’ll understand how many boards he let Westy have. Literally every free throw that was a miss, Adams would box out and Westy would grab it. The depth is the real key to this team though. Sato is a great contract @ $2M and I’m telling you he will get the majority of minutes at PG in Chicago this season. White isn’t ready and Dunn has been exiled by the brass. Look for Sato @ 25 fppg this season. Then he’s got Smart who will be solid with 22 fppg. DSJ is a wild card but NYC should give him 20-25 mins a night, I’d like to think he could contribute 20 + fppg. Turner and Matthews hold down the wings, Matthews was a great cheap FA grab as he’ll start in Milwaukee. Crowder should be motivated in a contract year to put up some numbers in Memphis, he’ll be good for 20 fppg. Then the wildcard will be Hayward. If he can return 25 fppg or more, Perk is gonna be scary in the East. If not, Perk will still be solid. Bertans rounds out the rotation as another solid scorer. Great looks Raps, it’s been a pleasure having you in the league and I’m glad Yacob brought ya here <3.
3. Milwaukee Bucks.
Fuck you Jacoby. That’s it, that’s the review. Lol but na Jacoby went fucking tank mode last year and it paid off. I understand too, not everyone can be a fucking tank like me and win every year . He did well to grab Jrich and Tobias for a top 5 pick and future picks. Kristaps coming back is huge and I like him at around 30 fppg. Hopefully he can stay healthy. Giannis is a top 2 guy in the league and will be close to a 50 fppg scorer. Flipping Jrich for Covington is a nice win now move as well. Powell should have some opportunity in Toronto this year and should be a consistent 20 fppg guy. Honestly Jacob did well in FA but could’ve been even crazier if I didn’t snipe him on Dragic and Plums. Literally my FA goal was to make his FA worse . He still did well to get some depth pieces in Rivers, Marv Will, and Dwight Howard. If Howard latches on to LAL or somewhere, I think he’s a lock for 20 fppg. Not hard to do that as a fucking big man here so nice signing sir. The depth isn’t as good as I think a championship roster needs to be but hey this is the pre-season. You got the whole year there kid. I like my son to challenge for the East this year and possibly be the Fav with a couple moves, if he isn’t already.
2. New York Knicks.
Ouuuuuu Tyler was thinking about tanking but went ahead and had him an off-season. The first Dynasty26 champ is back after an off year by his standards. Jrue is a bonafide 35 fppg scorer and will be nice as fuck this year if he can stay healthy. Tyler nabbed Rubio from FA and it was pricey but he could afford it since he has depth. Look for Rubs around 28 fppg this season. Rose and Patty Mills are great secondary guards as well, pending health for Rose. He’ll explode some games and if he can just stay healthy, he should average 23 fppg. Frank the Tank is looking bad honestly, he’s not in a good spot. Tyler gotta pray something changes. Middleton is great and should be around 30 fppg. Favors should eat in New Orleans and score around 30 fppg as well. The depth is so strong on this team as well. Green, Leonard, Warren, and Stanley Johnson round out the roster. Great FA pickups in Green and Mills. Hopefully Warren can be healthy and good in Indy. I like the squad a lot Ty and IMO it’s a little more complete than Jacob’s Bucks while not as top heavy. East is gonna be fun man, I think a lot of teams are taking steps and this shit won’t be a cake walk.
1.New Orleans Pelicans.
Yeah. Dude’s the favorite for the future and now. He tanked the first year, stockpiled picks, ripped some deals, and made some shrewd moves. (Ie. Wall for Gobert). Westbrook is regressing but the man is still averaging a trip dub, he’s gonna be a 40 fppg guy. Vanvleet is good and on a killer contract @ 1M for 3 years. Garland could be the next big thing in Cleveland and if he is, wow the rest of the league is fucked. Carsen Edwards should be the backup in Boston and I’m skeptical but hey Pelicans picked him so he’ll probably turn out great. DBook should continue to grow and approach a solid 30 fppg. Buddy Hield had a coming out party last year and I’d like him to be a little more consistent this year and to average around 27 fppg. Beasley and Okogie are great young guards that are next up too. James Johnson had a down year but he’s a nice $1.25M contract and should bounce back this year. Great depth guy that can play both forwards. Draymond’s a stud and should be around 33 fpg with no Durant or Klay. Gobert is a 40 fppg and bonafide beast as well. And Siakam is the best asset in the league as he’s on a $250K deal for the next 3 years what the actual fuck. To think I wouldn’t deal Cody Zeller and a pick for Siakam in the beginnings of this league. I saw the talent I really did, I could’ve snapped him. Anway GG’s Pel’s you’re nice as fuck. I threw everything at you last year, came within 100 fppg, but couldn’t take the title. We got great parody in this league sans this Warriors like squad. He also has a bota load of picks still lmfao.
